Enough is Enough endorses five candidates in Provincial Election

May 6, 2009 - VANCOUVER - Enough is Enough, a citizen’s group dedicated to electing candidates who will take tough action against the criminal violence plaguing our streets, has endorsed five candidates in the May 12th provincial election.

“We have chosen five candidates who will get tough on crime if they are elected as MLA,” said Keith Roy, spokesperson for Enough is Enough. “We encourage all voters who are concerned about crime to vote for these candidates.”

The five endorsed candidates are:

Kash Heed, BC Liberals, Vancouver-Fraserview - This former police chief will be voice for common sense tough on crime policies in the legislature.

Mike Farnworth, BC NDP, Port Coquitlam - The only incumbent we have endorsed so far has been a strong voice within his party to get tough on crime

Vicki Huntington, Independent, Delta South - Not only does she have an impressive background in law enforcement and security, but she is the best choice to defeat the Attorney General who cut prosecutors in the middle of a gang war

Trevor Loke, BC Green Party, Surrey-Newton - A young candidate who organised the Rally against gang violence in Surrey, he has done more than most elected politicians

Benjamin Besler, BC Conservatives, Chilliwack - His answers to our survey were outstanding, he has promised to fight for 900 more police officers and believes that convicts should not have the right to vote

Candidates were endorsed based on their response to a survey sent last week, their record as public figures or activists, and their statements. Endorsed candidates will be provided with an endorsement piece of literature that their campaigns can distribute. More candidates will be endorsed later in the week.

Enough is Enough is mobilizing online and has launched a website www.enough-is-enough.ca for citizens to join our campaign and get the latest information. Enough is Enough is made up of citizens from across the Lower Mainland who want meaningful action on crime from our elected leaders.
